Selene & Martin. A mountain elopement inspiration.
As you might know, I’m one of those untraditional, suuuuuper crazy ;) ones that just take the one they love and get married. Jep, that’s me. Happened already two years ago. Still don’t regret it – quite the opposite.
In fact that’s the kind of wedding I appreciate the most: Two people in love with the purpose to celebrate their strong bond in a way that reflects who they are – despite every expectation from someone else.
Inspired by my new abode and it’s amazing sceneries, another elopement idea came to my mind. Do you remember my elopment inspiration in Zurich at Seebad Enge? My second vision had the same concept but this time I imagined a couple to get married in the mountains.
Luckily I found a bunch of talented people who where kind enough to join me for this rough ride. Together with Aline from Luuniq I was looking for the perfect little cottage to give this idea a base. It took us more than half a year to find it but in the end we found the most perfect spot at Iris place: the Weidhaus at Axalp.
One of the most important details and a non reasonable compromise: It has to be a real couple to participate because this inspiration should not just be about lovely details. Furthermore I wanted it to be a tangible story. Due to some fortunate circumstances I’ve met Selene & Martin online and it turned out that they were the perfect match.
So there it was. The day all of those planing would come together to one piece. The weather forecast drove me nuts! It said rain and thunderstorms. Woop! Woop! But thankfully it turned out to be dry and even a bit sunny that day.
We’ve started the day off with the Getting Ready in and around the cottage. Selene & Martin did not want to see each other until they met on a hill under a majestic tree in front of the cottage for their First Look. Afterwards we headed to a nearby waterfall for the ceremony. It still feels unreal to write it but yes this is what happend! And as this wasn’t already enough of what my heart could handle, they recited eachother some personal words about their relationship and made this whole experience even more special. After a little stop at the cottage for some champagne and sweets, we drove along a switchback to the most amazing moutain lake I have ever seen before to take their portraits! I could have stayed there forever. Thanks to Iris to make it all possible! To top it all off, we went back to the cottage and Aline already decorated a lovely dinner inspiration table.
As always I listed all the vendor’s and providers below. If you miss something, just write me an email and I’ll try to help.
A big THANK YOU for everyone being involved! Every single one of you made the whole, perfect dream come true.
Can you already hear the cow bells? No? Then let’s get this thing started!
