Greta & her family. A portrait session.
“What if I fall? Oh but my darling what if you fly?”
I know this quote from Erin Hanson for a while now but came across it once again while preparing this post. It kept me thinking about how much the thoughts in advance vs. the capability to just be carried along, influences the outcome of my work according the way I consider it to be the most significant version of me.
Meeting those four lovely souls once again made my day. It’s been an early wake-up time on this sunny morning in August. The location was quiet, peacefully and overwhelmed us with it’s natural beauty. At a moment’s notice we were wrapped in the warm feeling of being on holiday – although it’s been only a inconspicuous place around the corner of daily life. And it set my mind free. All I needed to do then and all I’ve done was to allow my heart, eyes and soul to absorb it all wherewith I created thoses memories.
This quote, the images and the feeling I have remembering that day reminds me of how important & the most fullfilling it is to trust your own power of creating something special. It only scares the hell out of us because we don’t know where it will lead us until it’s done. But that’s for sure: Not trying will lead to stagnation and this is even worse than failing.
